Berry Johnston is a true poker veteran and regarded as one of the game's top players. The Oklahoma native started playing poker in 1970. Berry moved to Las Vegas and made a splash in the early 80's, when he finished third in the 1982 World Series of Poker Main Event.
In 1983, Berry won his first WSOP bracelet in the $2,500 Match Play event. Two years later, Berry took third place in the 1985 WSOP Main Event.
The following year, Berry won the Big Dance and took home $570,000.
Berry won his third WSOP bracelet in 1990 in the $2,500 Limit Hold 'em event. He won his fourth WSOP bracelet in 1995 in the $1,500 Limit Omaha tournament. Six years later, Berry won his fifth gold bracelet in the $1,500 Razz.
In 2004, Berry was inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame.
In addition to his impressive wins, Berry has made more than 30 WSOP final tables and currently holds the record for most cashes in the WSOP Main Event.
Berry is well-known known for being a gentleman, on and off the table.
